Just a selection of some of my favourite plants. I have grown them all successfully in various gardens in London so I know that they are all suitable for our temperate and temperamental English climate. I am also very keen on plants that require a minimum of maintenance and which look great pretty much all year round.

I like to include plenty of evergreen/semi-evergreen plants in London gardens to avoid that ‘dead zone’ look that afflicts so many gardens between the end of November and March. Why look at dead plants and bare earth for a quarter of the year when there are loads of lovely plants that look great right through the winter?
